You are given a mission and placed into a themed room where you must explore to find hints and clues. You may find a container that needs a passcode to open or a lock that requires a key. If you search hard enough, you can figure out passcodes, open all the locks, find hidden items, solve riddles, crack physical and mental puzzles and ultimately free yourself in just one hour.

If you have never played an escape room before, you may be wondering what to expect upon walking into a room. After all, you’re about to be locked in a room for an hour, tasked with solving a variety of puzzles.

Hidden Items and Clues

The most common escape room puzzle is finding hidden clues or objects within the room.  If you’re in an escape room, chances are you’re going to have to try to find a thing that’s key to progressing through the game narrative.  This can be a key on top of a shelf just out of sight, or a piece of paper slipped into the pages of a book.  This can even be a phrase hidden within another phrase written on a wall or a picture frame.  Of course, once you find the object or code, you’ll likely have to use it in conjunction with another puzzle in the room.

Puzzles Involving Light and Sound

Light and sound can also play a part in escaping.  Writing can be subtly disguised with the correct lighting and sound clues, such as Morse code, and lead you forward through the story.  Songs, especially song lyrics, can be integral to the game, depending on the theme of the escape room you’re in.

Clues and Puzzles Hidden in Plain Sight Remember that every design choice in an escape game is there on purpose.  Escape room designers don’t just fill a room with random decorations because they look nice or fit the theme.  Anything in the room (potted plants, lamps, bookcases, rugs) can have a special meaning or hide a clue.  Look carefully at pictures and paintings, or even the frames they are hung in.  If there’s a mirror in the room, that’s probably not by accident.

Numbers and Text Puzzles

Number and text puzzles are standard.  You’re not expected to be a math genius or an English professor to solve the escape room puzzles, but you will need to think outside the box.  Any mathematical equations you come across will likely be of use.  Look for numbers or phrases out of place or purposely misspelt words (or words that use numbers as letters).  Of course, riddles can also be used in escape rooms.

Physical Puzzles

Physical puzzles may be used, such as moving simple objects, untying knots, or solving a picture puzzle.  These usually stand out and are not hidden, but the solution to them may be that you need to do things in a logical order (or follow a pattern).  In fact, pattern recognition and abstract logic are often found to be essential to escape a room.

Combination Puzzles

Most importantly, good escape rooms rely on a creative combination of many types of puzzles to fit the theme.  You’ll likely have to use strategic thinking and cooperation to find all the clues and solve all the puzzles necessary to escape.  Remember that the escape room is meant to be solved in under an hour, with a limited number of people, using only what’s available.

Put simply, yes. You will be briefed on the scenario you are taking part in, and once you enter the room, the door will be closed behind you. Whilst we encourage you to immerse yourself in the experience, you are free to walk out of the room anytime. We're not that mean.

Our escape rooms are designed for adults, with a recommended minimum age of 16. While there is no strict upper age limit, please note that the puzzles can be challenging for younger players.

Anyone age of 16 and under  must be accompanied by at least one paying adult (18+), who must remain in the room. This is required for insurance and liability purposes, and no exceptions can be made.

We consider our rooms family-friendly, but not specifically kid-focused. Mixed groups of adults and children often work well — children tend to be excellent at spotting hidden objects, while adults are better suited to solving the more complex puzzles. However, when a room consists only of younger players, progress is often limited due to attention span and difficulty staying on task.

Hell of a Dinner is for 4 people.

Jurassic Land up to 6 people.
Sweeney Todd and Dracula’s Castle are up to 7 people.
Please note that we recommend a maximum group of 5 due to confined space in a part of the experience.
In order to get the most out of the experience, we recommend that each team have four members.
If you are part of a bigger group, you can book multiple rooms so your teams can compete against each other!

Sessions can be booked online. We accept all major credit and debit cards, and we don't add any additional booking fees or surprise you by adding VAT at the checkout. The price shown is the price you pay.

If you're running late, please give us a call as soon as possible! We’ll do our best to accommodate you, but please note that due to the nature of the game, your session time may be reduced.

If you arrive more than 15 minutes late, we unfortunately will have to cancel your booking without a refund.

Each group has a dedicated time slot, and arriving late can impact the experience of the next team. Please be considerate — just as you wouldn’t want to wait if you arrived on time.

Yes – as long as there’s space in your team, you’re welcome to bring friends, up to the maximum capacity of the room. You can simply pay the difference on the day.

We’re sorry, but due to the nature of this activity, we’re unlikely to be able to fill your booking slot at short notice. While we are unable to offer a refund or credit, we would be happy to reschedule your booking.

Please note that we are also unable to provide refunds for late arrivals, reduced group sizes, or no-shows.
If your group size has decreased, we recommend inviting a friend or someone else who might enjoy joining you!

Sadly no. We ask all players to leave any photographic equipment and phones at the reception, where they will be locked in a safe. Due to the nature of the game, we do not wish to spoil the adventure for future players.

Please arrive 10 minutes before your booked session.

Please be careful in the room; nothing is hidden under the carpet, floor, plasterboard, walls or ceilings. There is no need to use brute force or smash anything.

We recommend that people do not drink lots of alcohol before arriving, as some of the puzzles will require clear thought and physical dexterity. Customers who turn up overly intoxicated, appear to have taken drugs and misbehave with each other, staff, or public member will be refused entry with no refund given.
